My New Venture –
An E-learning Platform
We needed a copywriter for our project that was able to work on their own initiative, was diligent, creative and able to work to challenging deadlines.

My New Venture (MNV) is an e-learning portal designed for first-time business owners that provides the necessary information to help them down the bumpy road of building a business. The founders are three busy and successful entrepreneurs who have made the same journey themselves and wanted to help others navigate an increasingly complex arena. They needed someone to pick up the content side of the project and manage that process.
Brief
The founders of MNV were looking for a writer to take ownership of the copy and get the project finished. They had created the content before but rebranded, and so much had changed for small business owners that they needed a refresh.
The Journey
Over nine different business modules, there was a hell of a lot of content to read through before getting started. So with my PM hat on, I created a shared action tracker to keep hold of the content and review cycles.
Each module needed to be reviewed, edited, and created in a single MNV tone of voice before signing off by the relevant SME. There were endless opportunities for business storytelling with case studies, quizzes and business anecdotes, and the team were receptive to new ideas.
I aimed for two review cycles for each module, handled comments via Google Docs, and kept a list of ideas for additional supplementary content. Then, as the SME signed off the modules, I handed them over to the design team for upload onto the portal. In addition, we kept (another!) spreadsheet for snags and placeholders.
Outcome
MNV has now launched their exciting product, and if you’re in the early stages of starting your business, I highly recommend the content!
